Exploring Leadership Curriculum Developer

 

 

Summary: The Exploring Leadership Curriculum Developers will be responsible for creating the scope and sequence and programming for the Spring Exploring Leadership Cohort. The cohort will allow aspiring leaders an experience that will both provide space to reflect on personal values, strengths, and aspirations and expose participants to leadership opportunities throughout DCPS. Participants will leave the program with a strong sense of their personal leadership strengths, and a professional growth plan for the next 3-5 years. 

Curriculum designers will collaborate and use research, best practices, and personal experiences to draft eight sessions focused on two themes: 

  1. Self:  

    1. Reflection on personal leadership style and strengths 

    2. Personal goal setting  

    3. Action planning for career growth 

  2. System:  

    1. Knowledge, mindsets, and beliefs required to lead in DCPS 

    2. Exposure to leadership positions in DCPS 

    3. Building a portfolio to be a strong candidate for future leadership 

Curriculum designers will complete 30-40 hours of work and earn a $1,250 stipend

Eligible Educators: This opportunity is best suited for RISE Instructional Leaders (TLIs, LEAP leaders, Instructional Coaches, etc.), Assistant Principals, and Principals who have experience creating or facilitating adult learning opportunities, coaching adults, and/or moving through different DCPS leadership roles.

Dates: October-December 2021
